Student Downloads

The download available in this section is the Student Version of WindMil® available to all students.

The Student Version is limited to 150 nodes per model. LightTable® is not available for the Student Version.

Please fill in all form fields. Once you submit this form, you will be taken to the Downloads page, where you can choose which products you need to download. (Currently only WindMil is available to students.) You will also receive an e-mail with the installation password.

After you download and install WindMil®, follow these steps to activate the student license:
  1. Create an empty text file called “StudentVersion.ini”.
  2. Place this file in the directory with the “WindMil.exe” executable. If you used the default installation, this will be at “C:\Milsoft\Programs\”.
The WindMil® installation comes with a student version of the equipment database (EQDB). You will find it in the “SampleEqdb” folder.
 
In January, 2012, the third edition of Distribution System Modeling and Analysis by Professor Emeritus William H. Kersting was published. The new addition uses WindMil® to work out samples. Professor Kersting was kind enough to provide the following tutorial files for anyone working out examples within his books. [Tutorial 1, Tutorial 2-4, Tutorial 5-6]

Student versions are for non-commerical use only. By downloading the Student version, you agree to not use the software for commerical purposes.
