The Milsoft Story
It all started with a pencil, paper, and a calculator. Wayne Carr, Co-Founder and current Chairman of the Board of Milsoft, was working at Milford Engineering in the 1980s when he had an idea (which was not uncommon for Wayne). This idea would change his life and impact countless electric utilities all over the world. Wayne began writing and using software for distribution analysis and then sold that software to electric utilities to help them operate more efficiently and safely. Leon Giesecke joined Wayne before he even finished college to assist with software development, sales, and support. Together, they formed Milsoft Integrated Solutions, Inc, in 1989, with Luis Malave joining the Milsoft development team in 1993. From that point, Wayne, Leon, and Luis focused on developing an outstanding team of employees who worked tirelessly to make their software the most powerful and detailed distribution circuit modeling software in the world.
Since those humble beginnings, Milsoft has expanded its services to include outage management systems (OMS), interactive voice response (IVR) systems, geospatial information systems (GIS), and field engineering (staking). With the addition of Automation Consulting, Inc., in 2003, Milsoft Integrated Solutions, Inc., became Milsoft Utility Solutions, Incorporated.
You can now find Milsoft software in over 1000 utilities, municipalities, consulting firms, and universities worldwide. In 2019, Milsoft acquired Daffron and Associates, whose accounting and billing platform adds a customer information system (CIS), work management system (WMS), and financial management system (FMS) to an already reputable and reliable engineering and operations platform. With a complete enterprise solution in sight, Milsoft is well-positioned to serve customers for years to come.
For over three decades, Milsoft has been committed to providing the best services, products, and support to our users, and we look forward to continuing that tradition.
